Greg Gorga Lecture: 13,000 years of Local Maritime History told with Postcards and Old Photographs

A new addition to our lecture series this year is local, Greg Gorga of the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum.  Learn about the local ocean history as told through stories about pirates, shipwrecks, the largest naval disaster in U.S. history during peacetime, and the Point Conception Lighthouse.

Greg Gorga, Executive Director, joined the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum in February 2007 as Director of Development, and has served as the Executive Director since May 2008. Gorga has a B.A. in English with a Psychology minor from Rutgers University.  He has more than fifteen years of experience working with nonprofit agencies, including Manager of Planning & Development for the Community Action Commission. Gorga is the current President of the Council of American Maritime Museums, and formerly served as Chair of the City of Santa Barbara Community Development & Human Services Committee.
